Summer Stargazing

Our Annual STARGAZING PARTY AT BIG SPRING STATE PARK ON SAT., JUNE 3 AT SUNSET (COME AT 8 p.m. -or earlier - for best parking spots.) About 10-12 telescopes will be set up at the State Park pavilion by the West Texas Amateur Astronomy Club (from Midland.) These club members love to educate the young & old about astronomy. Come on out for a fun outdoor educational opportunity for the family. Donations to support this event will be accepted (no fees for this event.) WHAT WILL BE IN VIEW IN THE HEAVENS: Objects to observe Moon, Jupiter, globular star cluster M13 in Hercules, galaxies M81, M82 and possibly M104 the Sombrero galaxy. ALSO - Attendees should enjoy a pass of the Hubble Space Telescope. PLUS, Those that stay until 10pm (or after,) should get a glimpse of Saturn (that will rise in the East.)
